First came the car boots.
Before there was a shopfront, there were early mornings, packed boxes, folding tables, and bootfuls of games. Those first setups helped us meet local players face to face and learn what the community actually wanted.
Beer & Pretzel Gaming is a local gaming shop built around fair prices, friendly play, and a welcoming space for every kind of player. New, returning, casual, competitive. Everyone gets a seat at the table.
Before there was a shopfront, there were early mornings, packed boxes, folding tables, and bootfuls of games. Those first setups helped us meet local players face to face and learn what the community actually wanted.
A little over three years ago, the shop began with market tables, boxes of games, trading cards, hobby supplies, and a simple promise: keep gaming accessible locally without overcharging the community.
The setup grew into a more familiar market stall, with more stock, more conversations, and more returning faces. It was never just about selling boxes. It was about becoming a reliable place for local gamers to find what they needed.
As people kept coming back, the business became more than a stall. Players asked for events, places to meet, fair access to products, and a shop that cared about the local scene rather than chasing quick profit.
The orange and blue identity grew around Pretzelious, the blue lizard man, and Beir Underhold, the orange-haired dwarf. Our two mascots that keep the shop feeling warm, playful, and unmistakably ours.
The market setup grew into a proper store: shelves, paints, card accessories, board games, RPGs, miniatures, events, and enough table space for people to sit down and actually play.
Cumbria is spread out, so the shop supports events, clubs, collectors, new players, and local gaming groups. Whether you play, trade, paint, browse, or learn, the focus stays on the community.
We help promote nearby clubs and community groups across Cumbria, so players can find a table, meet local people, and support the wider gaming scene.
